From a great vintage. This wine is rich and fully flavored. The ripe fruit is balanced by the French and American oak (35/65), all of which adds to the smooth allure of this outstanding grape variety.
Ample fruit combined with elements of smoke and pepper make this a Cabernet Sauvignon that displays the classic terroir of the Finger Lakes. Aromas and flavors of heavy toast barrels enhance smoky, rich fruit elements. Small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc are blended to help bolster mid palate and highlight fruit complexity.
Robust flavors of black currants, prunes, and cherries combine with
spicy nutmeg and black pepper in the lengthy finish, providing a remarkably rich combination of depth and character..
Among the white wines of the world, Pinot Blanc probably sets the record for the number of misconceptions regarding its pedigree, style and even origin. Depending on the country in which it is grown and the winemaker's personal approach to fashioning a wine out of the grape, pinot blanc can range in style from the uncomplex, light and fruity pinot biancos of northern Italy to complex, oaky masterpieces which can rival the biggest and best chardonnays. The styles in between these extremes are numerous and well worth exploring. As a varietal, it is well suited to the various viticultural regions in New York and is starting to show up in some very exciting styles. Here are three;
This dynamite easy-drinking Chardonnay has all the right elements - crisp mouthfeel, bright fruit flavors and a dose of toasty, yet not overpowering oak. A great value in an excellent food-friendly wine.
From colder Keuka Lake, this appealing wine is just off-dry, and displays a fruity intensity (luscious aromas of figs, plum and melons), moderate acidity and smooth finish.
Lean and crisp, with an austerity that reminds one of an Alsacian style, this is Lieb's signature wine, Long Island's best example of the grape and a very stylish libation.
Winner of the Best Sparkling Wine in the 2003 New York Wine & Food Classic, this is Rose Champagne at its most flavorful.
A luscious and fruity blush style of champagne with great fresh grape and rose blossom aromas and flavors.
"White from Black" grapes. "Nature" means a totally dry style with no dosage. The Pinot flavor is crisp, the finish dry and delicious.
