The current state-of-the-art in pink wines in New York is a return to the traditional drier styles of rosé. Almost gone are the sweet white zinfandel clones, and in are the drier Provence~style true rosés most often made from classic vinifera varieties like Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Bright red color, with mouthfilling flavors of citrus, ripe berries and a little spice. A delicious summer wine.
Made from Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this rosé is made in a typical Provence style; floral, herbal and a little bit of earth. Simply elegant with food, or just sipping by itself as a refreshing aperitif
A unique blend of Chardonnay and Merlot. Salmon colored, citrus and rose petals in the nose, ripe berries and citrus flavor. Nicely balanced fruit and acid.
Foch is one of the most versatile of the hybrids; a wine that features a rich bouquet of chocolate, ripe black cherry and herbs. Overall it's a pleasant, easy drinking wine with long finish.
A handsome garnet colored medium bodied wine packed with complex berry and currant aromas together with pleasant crisp berry flavors complimented by smooth tannins, balanced oak and a nutty finish.
From the Finger Lake's King of the Hybrids. A well-balanced Italian Tuscan style with a hint of raspberry. Enjoy with pasta dishes.
Nouveau style. Distinct, black cherry aromas and flavors. Light and refreshing, but still dry. A nice picnic red that is also great with pizza and pasta.
Among the world's sparkling wines, (called Champagne in France, Spumante in Italy, Cava in Spain, etc.), Rosé represents some of the most elegant examples of the vintner's art. At once crisp and refreshing, as well as displaying a depth of flavor that wines made from white grapes cannot, sparkling Rosé's are grown to perfection in the temperate Finger Lakes. With just the right soil, climate and temperament among the growers ~ the Finger Lakes are regaining their prowess as one of the best regions in the country for methode Champagnoise. (Just remember, the first American wine to win a gold medal in a European competition, Gold Seal in Paris, 1889, was a New York sparkler.)
This sister winery of the famed Dr. Konstantin Frank Vineyards has turned out some of this country's most outstanding methode Champagnoise and this elegant wine has all the hallmarks of a great rose: depth of flavor, a fine bead (bubbles) and a delicate yet heady mousse (froth in the glass).
A rare, pale-dry rosé champagne made from the King of the champagne grapes. Distinct, but delicate aromas of cherries, and hints of citrus lead to a pleasing and elegant taste experience.
A fruity blush style of champagne that makes a great alternative to traditional Spumante. Great fresh grape and rose blossom aromas and flavors.
